Hi, We are CoPro

CoPro, the Israeli Content Marketing Foundation, is the first and only non-profit organization in Israel dedicated exclusively to marketing Israeli content. For over 25 years, we have created a turning point in the Israeli film industry, expanding its business potential abroad by promoting and marketing Israeli documentary and animation films in the global market. Since 1999, we have been working towards our goal – creating collaboration between Israeli filmmakers and their counterparts abroad.

Every Spring, CoPro hosts The Israeli Documentary Co-Production Market and brings commissioning editors, network executives, film fund managers, festival directors, independent producers, sales agents and international distributers to Israel. During the market, the decision makers are exposed to the latest Israeli work in progress in order to create potential international co-productions.

While CoPro makes international co-productions possible, it is not a party of any deals made and all financial transactions occur directly between the two parties. In addition, CoPro supports the documentary filmmakers in Israel all year long with a verity of events, lectures, special screenings and master classes. CoPro is the leading organization in Israel for training filmmakers and elevating them and their creative work to international standards.

Maintaining Orna Yarmut's Legacy

(1956-2018) CoPro's Founding Director

In 1999, Orna Yarmut initiated and established the CoPro Foundation – and for twenty years managed and headed it. Orna Yarmut has dedicated her life with endless generosity, day and night, to promoting the Israel film industry. Orna passed away in summer 2018, a month after she had the chance to celebrate the 20th edition of the Co-productions Market.

Yarmut, a graduate with honors of the Department of Literary Theory at Tel Aviv University, began her work in the field of media in research and content editing. She was one of the founders of the Documentary Filmmakers Forum. In 1998-1999, served as the Forum’s CEO and in 2000-2003 was a board member of the Forum.

Since producing the first CoPro Market 23 years ago, CoPro has gained a stellar reputation for financial and artistic achievement. The foundation’s efforts have revolutionized the scope of international co-productions of Israeli documentaries, and boosted sales abroad.
Orna fostered countless global partnerships, gaining significant attention for Israeli documentaries, and initiating numerous high-profile, award-winning international productions. Thanks to her work and the strides made by the Israeli film industry with CoPro’s help, the foundation is now an influential part of the film ecosystem both in Israel and worldwide.
