Master Classes
These provide the participating filmmakers and producers with the professional infrastructure, tools and knowledge required to form international joint ventures, and find foreign investors and film distribution around the world. In addition the classes help establish international criteria for documentary filmmaking in Israel. The classes take place throughout the year.
 Objectives of the Master Classes:
1. Improve filmmakers’ ability to translate their ideas into a rich and developed cinema language, making maximum use of the visual medium.
2. Improve their ability to transmit material from the Israeli situation in images and imagery that are not necessarily culture-dependent, like those built for global audiences.
3. Enrichment of filmmakers knowledge of everything to do with possible ways of marketing an idea or film they have to the television networks and funds around the world, and expanding their understanding of such topics as appropriate “packaging”, recommended distribution channels for television worldwide (festivals and markets).
Through the range of events and encounters that the master classes provide, participating filmmakers and producers obtain the required preparation to join the sector of documentary films made through international co-productions.
 Seminars for filmmakers presenting at the Pitching at the International Co-Productions Market in May 2011:
1. Master Class Seminars – these will be taken by the leading European tutors in the field. As part of the master classes, there will be discussions and professional training in a range of topics related to making documentaries in Israel and abroad.
One of the objectives of the master classes is to provide guidance to filmmakers whose projects have been selected for the Pitching on how to present them in order to attract interest at the actual event. During the master classes, the filmmakers will acquire tools that will help them develop and improve their films, their cinema language, methods of marketing, and communications skills for various audiences.
Participants at the classes will be taught how to dress issues out of the Israeli situation in an original cinematic language that is not necessarily context-dependent, making maximum use of the visual medium.
On the panel will be producers and TV network managers from abroad, as well as senior Israeli producers and filmmakers.
Master classes will take place on Wednesday – Friday, 23-25 March 2011, and also during the 13th International Israeli Co-Productions Market, which will take place 23-30 May 2011.
The Master Classes will take place at the Goethe Institute in Tel-Aviv and with its support.
2. Simulation classes for filmmakers – given by specialists in the field of implementing the highest international standards in Israeli film productions, as preparation for the Pitching to international decision makers abroad.
The simulation classes will take place during April and May.
First session: Wednesday 13 April or Thursday 14 April, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm at the Tel-Aviv Cinematheque.
Second session: Wednesday 4 May or Thursday 5 May, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm at the Tel-Aviv Cinematheque.

 Outlying areas seminars – CoProMunity (the capital market)
To encourage new productions in outlying areas, CoPro has initiated an additional activity: it is holding concentrated seminars for students that will provide them with a map of the Israeli documentary market and the opportunities with the Fund’s support open to students upon completion of their studies.
CoPro considers every such activity to be a far-reaching statement of intent that advances the construction of the infrastructure for the documentary market in Israel. In each phase CoPro sees importance for the future that over time is expressed and tested in practice in the quality of the international joint ventures in which it participates.
Further CoPro seminars take place throughout the year.
