Since 2003, Copro has been working on yet another channel of international collaboration - children’s documentaries. At this time and age when the education system, too, undergoes privatization, it’s the middle and upper class kids that benefit the most. Kids from all walks of life watch TV a few hours a day. Copro wishes to promote and encourage a different type of TV for children - qualitative, authentic, enriching and equally available to all kids. In furthering the filmmaker workshops we have already held, we plan future pitching for children’s documentaries to which commissioning editors from Israel and from abroad will be invited, for the purpose of creating international co productions.
The completed films will be shown in schools, peripheral communities and kids channels on TV.
A bi-annually joint workshop of CoPro Foundation , the Tel Aviv Goethe Institute and Prix Jeunesse Germany on quality TV for kids.
