Call for a German delegation of producers to partake in
The 11th Israel Market for International Co-Productions
May 24-30, 2009
COPRO - The Documentary Marketing Foundation, in association with the IDFM (Israeli Documentary Filmmakers Forum) hereby call upon German producers to submit their project proposals for selection to the CoPro co-productions market in late May 2009.
The purpose of a delegation exchange between Germany and Israel is to strengthen the association between German and Israeli producers and broaden the options for collaboration in executing the filmmaking treaty between the two countries. This program kicked-off with the Israeli delegation to the Leipzig Festival, and is ongoing with bringing a delegation of German producers to the 11th Israel Market for International Co-Productions.
The German delegation will present documentary projects to Israeli producers, heads of TV networks, and heads of Israeli documentary foundations as well as get to meet Israeli production companies.
GUIDELINES
1.German producers are invited to submit a documentary projects (preferably a feature) with an international appeal that relates to the Israeli public.
2.Each producer may submit one to three projects.
3.Preference is given to filmmakers with experience in inter-country productions (not necessarily in European).
4.The chosen projects will be presented to Israeli producers, broadcasters and foundations, for the sake of future co-operation.
5.Producers without projects wanting to be included in the delegation may still apply and will be given second priority.
SUBMISSIONS
The projects must be written in English and submitted to CoPro by Friday, March 13, 2009. Please e-mail proposals to registration@copro.co.il or delegation@copro.co.il
DVD’s (if applicable) with English subtitles, in triplicate should be sent to:

The projects will be evaluated by representatives of the CoPro Foundation and the IDFM.

Full company profile - up to 1 page (including filmographies)
Budget - (up to 2 pages) (in Euros)
Picture and CV for the Director and Producer (up to 1 page)

*All proposals to be submitted in English only (DVD’s with English subtitles) and budgets quoted in Euros.

*Selection outcome will be published in the first week of April.
*Selected producers funding for 3 nights accommodation, registration fee and a partial refund on their flight fare. Producers will have full access to all the market events as well as the opportunity to meet with Israeli projects and production companies for potential collaboration.
ITINERARY INCLUDES:
•Presentation of the Israeli documentary industry
•Presentation of scripts to Israeli producers, broadcasters and film foundations
•One-on-One meetings will all relevant bodies.
•Participation in all market events.
•Trip to Jerusalem and the Dead Sea.
